Let’s Make a Chart with AI! In this session, we’ll use the Datawrapper MCP to turn data from the NYC Open Data portal into compelling charts and graphs.
In Part 1, you learned how to prompt AI tools to reliably pull data from New York City’s Open Data portal using the Open Data MCP. Now, we'll transform those query results into clear, effective visualizations. Join three working journalists who will help you:
  1. Identify what makes a strong, effective chart
  2. Develop a clear vision for the story you want your data to tell
  3. Prompt an AI tool to generate the chart you have in mind
By the end of the session, you’ll know how to go from raw public data to a polished visualization using AI.
